Helicopter - Intermittant Metrological Conditions

An introduction to helicopter instrument flight in adverse and intermittant weather conditions. Prepares the VFR rotorwing rated pilot for transition to unexpected instrument flight conditions. This is a non FAA certification course to prepare the pilot to safely navigate the aircraft during an unexpected limited visibility weather condition. 24 hr course, ground school plus simulator instruction
The FlyHelos IMC course is a non FAA certification course. The course administers and trains to basic instrument flight rules and is intended for the current fixed or rotor-wing VFR rated pilot interested in gaining the skills necessary to enable the safe and efficient transition from VFR to IFR flight conditions when an unexpected metrological situation arises.

Students must possess a current FAA/JAA private or commercial fixed or rotor wing certification with a minimum of 50 SIC or PIC flight hours.

The course is designed to meet the existing skills and experience level of the student. This is a 24 hour course which can be taken across multiple days as your schedule dictates.

The IMC course includes 10 hours of ground school and 14 hours of instructor guided simulator training.

High Fidelity AATD, PTT and Full Motion Flight Simulators are used to provide real world flight experience including instrument familiarization, IFR approaches under IMC conditions, and disorientation recovery.

Classes run every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday of each week from 0800-1200 and from 1300-1600 hours.
